Erik Seidel, a bit of history before we mention his immensity as poker professional. In New York, Erik started off playing competitive backgammon tournaments for eight years and then he eventually moved to the stock market. There, he did stock trading on Wall Street while playing poker on the side. Starting in 1988, he was playing poker professionally on and off until 1995 when he made the big move to Las Vegas to pursue his career as a full-time professional poker player. Erik Seidel; cool, calm, and collective. He is known for his patient, conservative, solid play. His approach to the game has more then paid off, bringing home six WSOP bracelets, four Bellagio titles, and dozens more. Erik also became well known for his second place in the 1988 WSOP main event, losing to Johnny Chan. This final hand was used in the movie Rounders, starring Matt Damon.
