Before becoming a poker professional, Joe Awada was a juggler as many have seen him T.V. Starting in his teens, he started juggling for a traveling circus, and then he was on tour with the Harlem Globetrotters. Unfortunately, Awada got in a car accident, ending his juggling career. He became a card dealer in Las Vegas and he created a business for developing casino games. One game he has made is 3-5-7, also known as Champion Poker. It is a game simulating a Texas Hold’em format with two whole cards for you and the dealer and then a community of five cards. Besides running a business, Joe recently started playing tournament poker. He has had an explosion of success. Already, he has a WSOP bracelet at the Seven-card Stud World Championship, a second place in a WSOP hold’em event, a fifth place in the Legends of Poker main event, and a first in the Festa Al Lago III tournament all in 2004. Joe Awada once stated, “No-limit, there’s so much excitement in it, an hour of doing nothing and two minutes of terror.” This husband and father of six children has his hands full, juggling his family life, poker tournaments, and his business. His juggling days aren’t really over.
