Sami Farha is known for having an unlit cigarette in his mouth at the poker table, claiming they are his good luck charm. But if the current cigarette isn't giving him luck, or he is getting bad luck, he will switch it out and pop in another one. The funny thing is, Sami doesn't even smoke, but Sami's cigarette must be doing something right. For his tournament poker resume, he currently has one WSOP bracelet from a 1996 Pot Limit Omaha event and came in second at the 2003 WSOP main event, losing to Chris Moneymaker, but earning himself $1.3 million. Prior to being a poker player, Sami lived in Lebanon until a civil war erupted and he moved to the US. He got a degree in Business Administration from Friend's University and began working. But of course, Sami was eventually invited to a poker game, where he experienced his first taste of poker. This natural card player came home up a few thousand and realized he could make some serious money in this game. Currently, Sami hasn't been very active in the tournament circuit, but is still making a living by frequently playing cash games.
